Sector Synopsis
Communication and Wireless
Market snapshot • October 2, 2026
Technology Overview
Every call, stream, sensor reading and AI workload depends on networks that keep getting faster, denser and more global. Communication and wireless technology now extends from fiber backbones and 5G radio access to low-Earth-orbit satellite constellations, and operators are adding AI-ready infrastructure on top. Demand for capacity, low latency and resilient coverage is pushing investment into submarine cables, multi-orbit satellite broadband, DOCSIS and fiber upgrades, and direct-to-device connectivity.
This database covers the full range of the sector. It includes national telecom operators and mobile carriers, satellite operators and launch providers, and makers of chips, antennas and optical components. It also tracks network test and monitoring vendors, cloud communications and messaging platforms, and IoT connectivity specialists. Standards bodies, regulators, research institutes and space agencies round out the picture.
Applications include consumer mobile and broadband, enterprise unified communications, contact center voice AI, industrial IoT, public safety radio, maritime and remote connectivity, and secure government networks. Together these companies show where bandwidth, spectrum and orbital capacity are being built, sold and regulated.
