Sector Synopsis

Transportation Autonomy

Market snapshot • October 2, 2026

Technology Overview

Autonomy is moving out of the test lane and into revenue service. Driverless robotaxis now carry paying riders in multiple cities. Autonomous trucks are being assigned long-haul freight corridors. Uncrewed aircraft and vessels are winning defense production contracts. For anyone tracking where transportation is heading, this is the moment the technology meets the market.

This ebook maps the full ecosystem behind that shift. It covers robotaxi and autonomous trucking developers, sidewalk delivery robots, eVTOL and drone makers, and autonomous surface vessels. It tracks the perception layer, from lidar and 4D imaging radar to driver monitoring and simulation software. It also follows the automakers, Tier 1 suppliers and chipmakers building these systems into vehicles. Alongside them sit fleet telematics and logistics platforms, charging and battery players, research institutes, industry associations and standards bodies. The result is a single, daily-updated view of the companies turning self-driving, self-flying and self-sailing technology into working transportation.
