Technology Overview
Generative AI has moved from novelty to core business infrastructure. Models that write, code, design, speak and reason now sit inside the tools companies use every day, and the race to build, deploy and govern them is reshaping whole industries. This ebook tracks the companies driving that shift.
The range is wide. Frontier model labs and open-source communities build the foundation models. Chipmakers and cloud providers supply the compute behind them. Developer platforms, inference services and data-labeling firms turn raw models into working products. Above that layer sit the applications: AI coding agents, marketing and writing assistants, video, music and image generators, voice agents, legal and finance copilots, and clinical tools that summarize patient visits or read medical images. A fast-growing group of observability, security, evaluation and governance vendors keeps these systems reliable and compliant. Universities, research institutes and AI safety nonprofits shape both the science and the policy debate. Together they show generative AI spreading from the data center to the desktop, the hospital and the factory floor.
